What this is, in plain terms

Regulators publish in dozens of places and formats: an RSS feed here, a JSON API there, a press-release page that only lists titles, a bulletin numbered one way in Oregon and another way in New Jersey. A compliance lead at a small company cannot watch all of them, and the enterprise tools that do cost more than the person. RegPing is the middle option — a wire. It polls the sources, throws out duplicates, has a language model write a two-sentence summary with a severity label, and delivers the result where a team already talks.

Two rules never bend. Every alert links to the regulator's own notice, and every alert says it is not legal advice. The summary is for triage; the notice is the record.

The bots run on a single per-server subscription billed by Discord. There is no seat pricing and no contract; a server that has not paid still gets a free weekly digest so the value is obvious before anyone enters a card.

Why it exists

We built the first version for a single FDA recall channel, because the alternative was a person refreshing fda.gov every morning and still missing the openFDA classification that lands three weeks later. The same shape — poll, dedupe, summarize, post — turned out to fit the SEC and FINRA, the state cannabis regulators, and the privacy agencies just as well. So there are four bots, one engine, and this archive.
