California DCC: California Department of Cannabis Control
California's cannabis licensing and enforcement agency. RegPing reads its news and its separate recall portal.
11 alerts · 0 urgent · 2 notice · 9 info · California DCC
California issues more cannabis recalls than every other state combined: 25 in the first quarter of 2025, 34 in the second. They are published on a separate portal at recalls.cannabis.ca.gov and never appear in the department's press feed. Enforcement is disclosed in a compliance-action-records table (citations, suspensions, revocations) and in quarterly roundups that arrive four to five months after the quarter.
What California DCC publishes
- Mandatory and voluntary recalls (separate portal)
- Press releases and posts
- Compliance action records: citations with fines, license denials, suspensions, revocations
- Rulemaking: regular (DCC-2026-03-R) and emergency (DCC-2026-03-E) packages
- Annual legislative reports
Cadence. Several recalls a week. Press releases monthly to quarterly. FY2024-25: 88 administrative citations totaling $5.5 million, 192 suspensions, 79 revocations, 25 mandatory recalls.
What to treat as urgent
- Mandatory recalls, which carry an embargo on the affected batches.
- Emergency regulations (the -E suffix), effective immediately for 180 days.
- Pesticide action-level changes; the DCC-2025-03-R levels take effect October 1, 2026.
Quirks worth knowing
- No RSS anywhere; three overlapping listing pages for news.
- The recall portal has no feed or API; RegPing reads the listing.
- Quarterly statistics publish months late.
- Compliance records mark appeals with an asterisk and have no search.
